about
The protagonist is a wagon driver with his own agenda. He ignores his passengers who are nagging him: “Hurry, I have to get to my rebbe.” “Slow down, my hemorrhoids hurt.” Our hero just wants to get to the tavern, where he drinks away everything in the company of a clever modern fellow. He then has to go home with nothing but his whip—and face his wife.
