These are unvarnished living room recordings of funny, sad, historical, satirical Yiddish songs set to American popular songs of the turn of the 20th century. They have a world in them for those interested in Jewish immigrant life and worldviews in New York around 1895-1910. Purchas the whole album and you get the 21-page liner notes as a pdf file to download, with all the translations and transliterated lyrics.
