At traditional Jewish wedding, there is an entertainer called a badkhn who is expected to make everyone laugh and cry. In this song he lectures a bride: “Don’t you two comport yourselves like Turks, don’t tear at each other like cats, and, dear bride, if your husband gets a hankering to be a widower, you, dear bride, better pray to God to become a widow.
